Dr Eleanor Dodd
MBChB BSc (Hons) PG Cert FHEA
Eleanor is a proud University of Leeds alumni and graduated in 2017 with a BSc (Hons) in Pharmacology, in 2019 with her MBChB and again in 2023 with the PGCert in Clinical Education. ​
After completing Foundation Training, she held the position of Clinical Fellow in Medical Education & Simulation at Mid Yorks Teaching Trust for two years and was the Fourth-Year Lead for her second year in this role.
​​Eleanor ranked 8th nationally in O&G recruitment in 2023 and is currently an ST1 in O&G in West Yorkshire.
​During the academic year 2023-2024 Eleanor sat on the standard setting panel for the Year 4 MBChB written paper and examined the Year Four OSCEs. ​Her passion for Medical Education inspired the foundation of Med Ed Medics.
She ran her first course with Med Ed Medics entitled Birth, Babies & Beyond.. in May 2024, which received overwhelmingly positive feedback from attendees.
Dr Joe Thompson
MBChB BSc (Hons) PG Cert FHEA
Joe graduated from the University of Birmingham Medical School and completed the Academic Foundation Programme (AFP) at Leeds Teaching Hospitals.
Since finishing FY2 he has spent three years working as a Fellow in Medical Education & Simulation at Mid Yorkshire where he has been the Year 5 Clinical Fellow Lead and Research Lead. His main teaching areas of interest are Year 5 MBChB students and foundation doctors (having contributed to the design and delivery of the STR1DE FY1 core teaching programme at Mid Yorks).
Joe has completed OSCE examiner training with the University of Leeds and holds PGCerts in both Health Research and Clinical Education. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).​
Joe has a research interest in peri-operative medicine and has multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals including the European of Journal of Surgical Oncology and the British Journal of Surgery.
Clinically, Joe is a locum SHO working regularly in Acute, General and Elderly Medicine at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. He starts Core Anaesthetics training in Leeds in August 2024 after ranking 11th nationally in the Anaesthetics recruitment process.
